Castle Grounds
Leave the enchanted castle behind and wander into our magical woodland walk. The trail winds its way through the castle grounds, embracing you in a tapestry of green foliage, towering trees, a symphony of birdsong and stream. Each step forward reveals new discoveries. Although the walk can take up to 30 minutes to finish, it has been carefully designed so you are never too far from the castle itself. Along the trail, the river stream’s flow evolves with the changing landscape. Its ever-changing path creates a sense of exploration, enticing nature enthusiasts to follow its course and discover the hidden treasures it unveils along the way.
Fishing
Within our castle grounds, a beautiful lake glimmers with twenty lively carp, an angler’s delight. Guests are encouraged to bring their tackle and enjoy peaceful, catch-and-release fishing from benches along the bank, all while soaking up the quiet history that drifts across the water.
Chicken Enclosure
As you wander through our castle grounds, you’ll come across our lovingly designed chicken enclosure, a haven for our feathered friends. It is a testament to our commitment to sustainable practices and providing our guests with the essence of farm-to-table freshness. Our friendly hens await a handful of grain and reward you with freshly gathered breakfast eggs.
Beehives
We embrace the sweetness of nature and sustainability. Nestled amidst the serene surroundings, our castle boasts a unique feature that delights both guests and the environment alike: our very own beehives. As you step into the castle grounds, you’ll be greeted by a beautifully landscaped area that houses our buzzing community of honeybees. Guests can enjoy and take home jars of honey produced by the honeybees right here at Carr Hall Castle.
Bluebell Walk
As you embark on your woodland walk, you step into a realm of enchantment and tranquillity. The air is crisp and fragrant, carrying the earthy aroma of decaying leaves, moss, and the sweet scent of pine. There are plenty of scenic resting areas along the walk, giving nature lovers a chance to take in the breathtaking views of the castle grounds & our bluebell meadow.
Castle View Walk
From the vantage point of the castle, the surrounding landscape unfolds like a living tapestry. Rolling hills, blanketed in vibrant shades of green, extend as far as the eye can see. Lush meadows dotted with wildflowers, swaying gently in the breeze, create a picturesque foreground that complements the regal presence of our castle.
Lakeside Walk & Boating
As you approach the lake, you’ll be greeted by the sight of a charming bridge, gracefully arching over the glistening surface of the water. It serves as a gateway to a world of exploration and offers a vantage point from which to admire the natural beauty that surrounds you. Our rowing boat, moored nearby, eagerly awaits your arrival.
